The book of Esther chronicles the near destruction of the Jews in Persia by an evil and anti-Semitic advisor to the king who vowed to have the Jewish people destroyed. A pious young Jewish woman named Esther hides her Jewish identity and is able to marry the king and through acts of faith and bravery save the Jewish people from destruction. The scroll concludes with Mordecai’s instruction to the entire Jewish people to celebrate these days as “yemei mishteh v’simchah, days of drinking and rejoicing” (Esther 9:22). So come in costume to drink and rejoice as we listen to the best Psytrance in the Northeast!
